Grand Rapids Players returns for its 20th year of summer theatre camp with Disney's “Descendants". The story follows the teenage children of infamous Disney villains, who are imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, a desolate island where they are forced to live out their parents' evil legacies. Do you remember Beauty and the Beast? Well, Belle and the Beast had a son, Ben! And, when he becomes King of
Auradon, he offers them a chance at redemption by allowing these outcast villians to attend Auradon Prep, a prestigious school for the children of heroes, forcing them to grapple with their wicked heritage and decide whether to embrace goodness or follow in their parents' footsteps. It’s a battle between good and evil as they navigate a new world and the complex relationships they form with the children of heroes. Come and build theatre skills, friendships and memories in this 3-week session which concludes
with 2 public, live performances on the Reif stage. Everyone will have a speaking role. There will also be opportunities for those who enjoy working tech, back stage, gathering props, organizing wardrobes and building/painting set pieces. This production is made possible with special permission from Music Theatre International, New York, New York.
